Today's happenings involved Mera. I will do it in two parts so as not to bore the readers.

I found Mera sleeping on the park bench this morning, his paw covering his eyes. I called him, he raised his head, and I saw a dark patch on his chin. I thought it was dirt, but when I looked closer, it was like some sort of abrasions, but dark in color. He meowed at me weakly. I brought him sardines, and when he tried to sit up to eat, I thought he was limping.

I came back with some antibiotic ointment, and he had finished all the food. He struggled when I tried to apply the medication, and his right paw is definitely injured, and he was weak and limping. I was very worried and frustrated, because this is a busy week for me and I would not be able to bring him to the vet so soon. I couldn't see any wound on the paw though.

When I left for work, Mera, BH2 and Hat were sitting in a triangle, 5 feet apart. Mera was grooming himself carefully. I applied more ointment on him, and told him to be careful.

The wounds do not look fight-related. It may be Mera was involved in an accident. And that means he may be having internal injuries. I sms his mum to ask him what had happened.

His mum called back, and told me she hasn't seen Mera for two days (!!!!) He was definitely at her house on Friday night, and had several bouts of diarrhoea of greenish stools and vomitting (!!!!!!!) She said she tried to chase him out of the house (!!!!!!!!!) but Mera won't budge. She said her neighbour had adopted a big dog, and Mera is frightened to come up nowadays. She said she couldn't find him today either. I suggested to her, to lock Mera in the house at night, so he can recuperate. She said he would scream and ask to go out ( because there is NO LITTER BINS for him in the house!!!).

I was so cheesed off!! She could have told me of the diarrhoea earlier, so I could bring Mera to the vet over the weekend! If he had gone to the vet, he might not have got injured!

What kind of %^$#@@*(( owner is this!

On my way home, I was thinking of how to fit in the vet trip.

1) Go tomorrow morning and be late for work. Mera most likely will have to stay in and I pick him up in the evening.
2) Wednesday and Thursday I have night training, so those days are out.
3) I have a morning training on Friday, but it is my off day, so I can bring him then. But his vet only works on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
4) In view of the possibility of internal injury, maybe Friday will be too late.
5) Maybe I can ask Kindly Neighbour's husband to help bring Mera. Kindly Neighbour has a full time job now, so she won't be available.
6) I will lock Mera in next week, after Max leaves on Sunday.
