Sister S was just joking when she said the mice chewed off Monty's ear and tail.
I think it is more like a birth defect.
Like, the mother cat smoked or did drugs when she was pregnant with Monty or something.

I think it is dried leaf/pod, eternal sunshine.
Monty's indeed got no tail.
As long as he is healthy, it's OK.
