Professional Camera Tricks for Cats and Dogs, by Tetsu Yamazaki, Iwanami Shoten Publishers Japan, 2003. Chinese language edition by Han Shin Cultural Enterprise Taipei, 2005.
A good introductory guide to animals photography. It took me a while to translate some of the technical terms, but with a digital camera, it is easier to play around the buttons and dials, and to try out different effects. The author is obviously a pet owner too, his pointers are practical, logical and easy to follow. I had tried out some of his tricks, and the results were encouraging.
Of course, you can also do the fine tuning and effects with Yahoo Photos or Picassa; but it is more gratifying to get a good shot the first time round.
