I reached home at 8.30pm, and thought I saw a yellow cat at Auntycat's block, on the staircase landing. I thought it looked like Mera.
I took some biscuits and sardines and rushed down. It was indeed Mera. He was lying down, and won't budge even though there were people moving up and down the staircase. He mewed at me repeatedly, and he won't sit up. I told him there is no way I can feed him on the landing, so I gave him a slight push. He couldn't stand up properly at all, and when he sat up, he won't walked. He just kept mewing. I coaxed him to the void deck, and let him eat. Then I rushed up to his mum's place.
His mum was watching TV, and I asked to borrow the cage. She didn't show any great concern at all,
doubt if she had tried very hard to look for Mera!! I told her I couldn't stay to chat with her, because I would have to get Mera before he finished his dinner.
When I was on the way home, I met Mra's dad.
He asked me if I had seen Mera, as he had not seen him for 2 days. I pointed out Mera to him, and explained to him that I am going to lock Mera in the cage tonight, and bring him to the vet tomorrow, on account of his diarrhoea, vomitting and injuries. His reply: " You go ahead." He told me of the neighbour's dog, and Mera's reluctance to come up, and how he keeps fighting with the other toms. I told him Mera has been looking sad and dejected lately, so while I went up with the cage, maybe he wanted to have a chat with Mera, just to comfort him.
I put the cage in the kitchen, and went down again with a carrier.
And. Mera. Had. Vanished.
I saw how weak he was, and there was no way he could walk away so quickly in such a short time! I walked round and round the garden, Hat following me, and we couldn't find Mera at all.
THAT STUPID MAN TOOK MERA HOME!
I was so so so mad!!!! After what I had told him! And his nonchalant reply! I have better things to do, Spencer and Max hadn't have their dinner, and I have long working hours! And his wife is just sitting there watching TV, though she has the WHOLE day to look for Mera and go to the vet.
Obviously they can't afford a pet. So why are they denying the pet a chance to get FREE medical treatment?
I was so mad, so I stomped home, and fed the kitties.
GAAAAAH! SO FRUSTRATED!!!!
