This movie is better than that silly Golden Flower. But still too many shots remined me of LOTR.

Despite of how she is being lauded, especially in Hollywood, I find Zhang Ziyi's acting skill below average. Her voice is weak too.

Daniel Wu did try his best. But maybe it was helped by his good looks.

I don't understand why Zhou Shin could win the Best Supporting Award in the recent HongKong Film Festival. She was just like a vase in this movie.

Ge You's character the Emperor is the saddest. Initially he was as slimy as a snake, then you realised in the end, he did love his Queen, an evil woman who is using him to obtain power and sexual gratification. And she loves a younger, better looking man anyway.
