BH2 IS IN TROUBLE

I was told that BH2's has a swollen paw. When I reached home, I found him waiting downstairs with Hat. He was crying most pitifully and his right paw is indeed swollen, to the size of a squash. It looked very tender and BH2 was limping. I suspected he may have fractured his foot or something had ran over it. It is most distressing, as it was raining too. He had been fed one can already.

It was too late for vet so the only way was to catch him, keep him overnight and tomorrow we will go vet. The kindly neighbour was willing to lend me her big cage, which Mera and Hat had stayed in before too. I took the cat carrier and some food and tried to coax BH2 into the cage. Easier said than done, BH2 is still very wary of humans, it was just not possible to stuff him in by force without getting our hands shredded and getting tetanus later. He snarled when we approached him. Passerbys gave their 5 cents worth of opinions but we had to give up after 20 minutes. We let him finished another can in peace and hope he will recover on his own. If he still has appetite, it is a positive sign. Either he gets well eventually, or he gets so weak that we catch him in the end. Or maybe Hat can explain to him that we meant well, and he will come to us willingly in the near future.
