Mera's progress report:

9am
I found him at the same spot on the staircase landing, at the opposite block. I quickly brought the carrier over. He was very cooperative, and went into the carrier willingly.
I set up the cage quickly, with food and water. Mera was growling, because Max was staring at him. He was still weak, and didn't want to eat. Spencer went to hide under the bed. I hope Mera doesn't pee or spray all over.
Hat skipped his breakfast, because I meant for him to eat in the store room, as it was raining, He took fright, and ran out quickly. The others ate, in the drizzle. I explained to Max about Mera's condition, and told him to be nice to Mera.

7.30pm
Left work promptly, and managed to hop onto the bus, so reached home by 8pm

8.05pm
No pee or poo from Mera. Max greeted me at the door, Spencer was sleeping on the wardrobe. They had dinner.
Mera was still growling. I gave him dinner, but he didn't eat. I locked Spencer and Max outside after they had eaten, and I let Mera out.
He wanted to escape through the window, the shutters of which I had closed. He climbed up the grilles, I got him down. He tried it again, and crashed. I thought I heard a *CRACK*. I think he just broke his own foot.
Mera was snarling, cursing and swearing, and went to rest behind the TV. Spencer was calling outside, so I let her in.
I burnt Calm Water again. Mera seemed to relax a bit, and sat closer to the flame. He still didn't eat. Or pee.

9pm
After much consideration, I decided to ask Kindly Neighbour to drop by for the next two nights, and see Mera, before I come back from my night training by 10pm.

9.30pm
Kindly Neighbour said she has to work OT this week, but she can get her husband to give me a lift to the vet tomorrow, before I start work at 11am. The vet, luckily, is not that far away. I am just worried that it will be crowded. Based on my description, Kindly Neighbour didn't think Mera can last until Friday, so it is best we go to the vet tomorrow. I think I will let him stay at the vet for the next two days, and run some blood tests, until he recovers.

10pm
Mera is back in the cage, and resting. He seems more relaxed. Max is waiting for his biscuits. I will get the carrier ready.

So it will be a long day tomorrow. I hope I have better news to share the next time. Posted by Picasa
