After that I detoured to the ShuangLin Monastery in ToaPayoh.

It was definitely a less frenzy place, more locals. And they came in waves.

The lotus candles are for special protection from the GuanYin.

There was this little dog hiding behind the counter. Her mum was collecting donations for special prayers. I think then the devotees get their names on the red lanterns.

I don't know what happened to that guy, but he was snoring.

Colorful lanterns..
The napping guy must be a pilgrim.

I remembered there are 3 temples at that stretch of ToaPayoh.
There is one with a Tiger deity.
Another temple called See Yan Gong.
In the late 60's, my grandmother would walk all the way there to pray from our old home(presently Bedemeer/Beng Wan Primary school).
